“I worked on these six paintings for quite some time, and they’re deeply personal to me because they focus on the mental impact of grieving a mother. I lost my mother almost a year ago and wanted to create a series of paintings to express my own grief journey. Each painting you see reflects a different aspect of my journey through grief. Grief is something all of us here went through at some point in our lives, but it’s often something we struggle to talk about openly. Maybe you’ll see a bit of your own experience in these paintings, or maybe it’ll give you a glimpse into what it’s like for someone going through grief. Next to each painting you’ll see a quote from different books, so I won’t be telling you what each painting represents. I want all of you to figure it out by reading the quotes and looking at the paintings.”
